Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh DM ?
Length: Double drabble; 200w
Summary: Tumble a hundred stories down; there's no one to catch you, but that's okay. Because that's falling in--
Disclaimer: Don't own 'cept the plot. Prompt from 31_days; will you catch if I'm falling?
Rant: Random musings. It's not good enough for halfthewords but life's cruel like that :)
Searching frantically for the voice of my heart
Outside of the window things are faintly growing light
Will you catch me--
She asks, subtle but strangely serious at the same time. She sits facing a window, opened wide enough for two people to fit through without bumping shoulders, a hundred stories (too) high up, with the warmth of his back pressing rays of sunshine against hers, too burning to touch, (melts her skin like fire).
No. He says, blunt to the core. But with a voice--that, blends opposites with the fresh spring wind, then--drifts out into the open, plummeting, a hundred stories down. Somewhere, it mingles with the shrieks and squeals of three-year-olds, the faint chimes of church bells, the distance beeps of reckless traffic, the rustle, rustle of lush green leaves; somewhere, it clashes disastrously (beautifully) with nature.
Will you? They don't look at each other--it's back against back all along--no depths of souls swimming in each other's eyes, no reassuring twinkle of the irises, no mirror reflections of uncertain blinks; no rolls of pride and prejudice; no eye contact is (secrets to hide) their way of conversation--reading between the lines.
Because they won't.
Because in love is perhaps, the only (one) time--
When I fall.
A/N: I couldn't, for the life of me, name the male here :| He, technically could be anyone surprisingly. In the end, my heart just couldn't identify him. Maybe YGO fans could enlighten me a little~
Otherwise, comments? ♥ :)
